  • ‘Bangladesh, a factor for Asian growth’
    Bangladesh has become a growth-generating factor for Asia with its consistent economic growth over the last decade. This is implicitly reflected in an article, prepared and released by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Thursday. The article said: “While overall economic growth in Asia is forecast to slow marginally this year, the dynamic economies of South Asia continue to post impressive numbers.” ADB observed that besides India, the largest economy in South Asia and also third largest in Asia, Bangladesh is also booming.   • Voice against climate change, says minister
    Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has called for raising voice against climate change that triggers natural calamities, like floods that recently hit haor areas in Bangladesh. Even a 40-foot dam cannot protect a haor area from a natural calamity unless climate change is mitigated, he said at a report launching ceremony in Dhaka city on Thursday. Minister Mustafa Kamal urged all sections of people and the United Nations to speak out against climate change.
